Occupational Therapy

If your life has been disrupted by physical injury, illness, developmental problems, the aging process, or social and psychological difficulties, the DeKalb Health Occupational Therapy Department is here to help. Working in conjunction with our Physical Therapy unit and your physician, we will design an individualized program specifically for you. Our goal is to assist each and every person in achieving an independent, productive, and satisfying life.

From the injured child or worker to someone affected by aging, occupational therapy helps people make the most of their abilities. DeKalb Health’s Occupational Therapy concentrates on activities of daily living and is most often involved with patients who have an injury or illness affecting the upper extremities or hands.

Our Occupational Therapy Department is open Monday through Thursday from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM with a lunch break between 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM.

Now Offering Therapy Services at the Judy A. Morrill (JAM) Recreation Center in Garrett

We work hard to ensure access to wellness, rehabilitation and activity programs for people of all ages. That’s why we’re so proud of our partnership with the Judy A. Morrill (JAM) Recreation Center in Garrett, which serves as an invaluable exercise, rehabilitation and activity resource for DeKalb County. Through the partnership, DeKalb Health provides physical, occupational and aquatic therapy services on-site at the JAM Center including aquatics, exercise and fitness.

DeKalb Health strengthened its growing partnership with the Judy A. Morrill (JAM) Recreation Center in Garrett through the recent donation of fitness equipment.

The equipment donation was made possible by a grant from the DeKalb Health Foundation to DeKalb Health, a portion of which went to the purchase of the equipment destined for the JAM Center. The new equipment will help expand the Center’s capabilities and is part of a larger, strategic partnership between the two organizations;

• Spinal stability programs
• Total joint replacement therapies
• Stroke therapy
• Orthopedic and pediatric diagnoses
• Private treatment rooms

HOURS: DeKalb Health therapy hours at the JAM Center are Tuesday and Thusday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
